Membership Program

Creating & Sustaining Quality Habitat for Birds & Other Wildlife
February 19, 2015
7:00 p.m., Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Kristin Lamberson, Interpretive Gardens Specialist for Strawberry Plains Audubon Center, will introduce the National Audubon Society’s conservation mission and strategies to create and sustain quality habitat for birds and other wildlife, while supporting healthy ecosystems and communities. Lamberson has worked on staff for 12 years, growing, planting and promoting the use of native plants Strawberry Plains Audubon Center is located on 3000 acres of model habitat that includes an antebellum home, visitor’s center and 15 miles of trails near Holly Springs, MS. Bird Watching Classes

Birmingham Audubon member, Greg Harber, will be teaching a series of bird watching classes for both members and non-members beginning Monday, January 5th. Classes meet from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Homewood Library. Cost is $20 per class for members and $30 per class for non-members. These classes are a continuation of last year's introductory class and delve further into identification tips and techniques as well as address various aspects of the species' ecology. The three classes offered are:

Waterfowl
January 5 and 12, 2015

Birds of Prey
February 2 and 9, 2015

Winter Songbirds
February 16 and 23, 2015

Class size is limited so enroll now by contacting Greg at his email address - Bring your check to the first class meeting to cover the cost of the class.
